چکیده

Osteochondral lesions of the talus that have previously undergone surgical management or involve the shoulder region of the talus require methods other than microfracture for treatment. For those lesions that have failed microfracture and do not involve the shoulder of the talus, osteochondral autologous transfer is our preferred treatment of choice. Perpendicular access to the lesion, often by osteotomy, is required for this technique. For those osteochondral lesions of the talus that involve the shoulder of the talus, structural allograft is indicated. This article describes our technique for osteochondral autologous transfer and structural allograft implantation. Level of Evidence: Diagnostic Level 5. See Instructions for Authors for a complete description of levels of evidence.

Intermediate outcomes of fresh talar osteochondral allografts for treatment of large osteochondral lesions of the talus.

BACKGROUND Large osteochondral defects of the talus present a treatment challenge. Fresh osteochondral allograft transplantation can be used for large lesions without the donor-site morbidity associated with other procedures such as autologous chondrocyte implantation or osteochondral autograft transfer. The goal of this study was to prospectively evaluate the intermediate outcomes of fresh ost...

Allograft juvenile articular cartilage transplantation for treatment of talus osteochondral defects.

UNLABELLED Osteochondral (OCD) lesions of the talus are frequent sequelae of traumatic ankle injuries such as ankle sprains, fractures, and recurrent ankle instability. Initial management of talus lesions in most cases involves arthroscopy and microfracture/curettage. Tissue resulting from the microfracture is fibrocartilage. Clinical improvement in pain is seen in approximately 75% to 85% of p...

Fresh osteochondral allograft for the treatment of cartilage defects of the talus: a retrospective review.

BACKGROUND Osteochondral lesions of the talar dome can cause substantial functional impairment and present a difficult treatment dilemma. Arthroscopic Revision Repair of Osteochondral Lesion of Talus Using Microfracture Drill and Bioengineered Dehydrated, Micronized Allogenic Cartilage Extracellular Matrix

Osteochondral lesions (OCD) of the talus are a common cause of chronic ankle pain and dysfunction, especially with history of injury and trauma to the ankle [1-3]. Lesions that do not respond to non-operative treatment may require surgical intervention arthroscopically or as an open procedure. Revision repair of osteochondral lesions historically has been performed as an open procedure with inc...
